David W. Bailey, Managing Partner at Bailey & Thomas, brings over four decades of legal experience to his practice. A graduate of Duke University (B.A. magna cum laude, 1979) and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law (J.D., 1982), David was admitted to practice in 1982.

David extensive experience in an impressive collection of areas, including Estate Planning & Administration, Wills, and Trusts. His true passion lies in client interaction. David’s favorite part of the job is meeting with clients and helping them fully understand their cases. This hands-on approach reflects his journey from trial insurance law to joining his father‘s practice, driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference in his community.

David’s commitment to education sets him apart. He excels at breaking down complex legal concepts into digestible information, whether for Estate Planning, Trusts, or Estate Administration. This approach empowers families to feel included and confident about their decisions during challenging times.

Outside of work, David enjoys cooking, golf, and Duke sports. He’s actively involved in Winston-Salem’s community through charitable work with Novant Health and supporting youth sports via the Winston-Salem Sportsmen’s Club.
